Clinical Disclaimer

Cognitrion is advisory decision-support for clinicians. It does not diagnose, it is not a medical device, and its validation status is stated plainly here.

Cognitrion does not diagnose. Every output is advisory information for a qualified clinician, who reviews it, confirms or overrides it, and signs it. Zero unsupervised assessments are generated.

Clinical disclaimer

Cognitrion™ is clinician-supporting clinical decision-support software. Its outputs — including any syndrome classification, severity rating, confidence value or therapy suggestion — are advisory only. They require review, confirmation and sign-off by a licensed speech-language pathologist, neuropsychologist or physician before any clinical use. Every report we generate carries this statement on its first page and a sign-off block on its last.

Not a medical device

Cognitrion is not registered as a medical device and is not approved for autonomous diagnostic use. Nothing on this site, in the software, or in any report constitutes a claim of medical-device approval.

Validation status — stated plainly

The system's accuracy has been evaluated against an internal bank of synthesised speech samples built from published clinical speech profiles, and against its own engineering test suite. It has not been validated against an external real-patient cohort, and normative comparisons currently use simulated normative data generated by published statistical methods. Both limitations are printed inside every report we produce. Clinical validation is a staged activity that follows, not precedes, this evidence.

For patients and families

The caregiver material on this site is general educational information about communicating with someone who has aphasia. It is not medical advice, not therapy, and not a substitute for assessment and treatment by a qualified speech-language pathologist. If you have concerns about your relative's health, please speak to their care team.

Where your data is processed

In the clinical edition the software runs on the clinic's own machine and speech recordings are processed there. The hosted demonstration processes data on our demonstration server and is intended for synthetic or dummy patients only; the interface states which processing lane is in use at the time.

If a statement anywhere on this site appears to contradict this disclaimer, this disclaimer governs. Please also tell us, at info@cognitrion.ai, so we can correct the wording.
